Culture

We believe the best client experience starts with a team that feels supported, connected, and fulfilled.

That's why we've intentionally built a culture that values relationships, personal growth, collaboration, and the flexibility to prioritize what matters most.

When our team members feel supported in both their work and personal lives, they're better able to show up for one another and for the families we serve.

People First

  • We really listen

We believe listening is one of the most important things we do.

Taking the time to understand someone's story, values, concerns, and aspirations allows us to provide more thoughtful guidance and build deeper relationships. We believe the best advice begins with understanding what matters most.

  • We truly care

We chose this profession because we care about helping people.

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing families gain confidence, move forward on important goals, and create meaningful impact in their lives and communities. The work is personal because the people we serve matter to us.

  • We serve families, not clients

The families we serve are more than account numbers or financial plans.

They are people with unique stories, values, goals, and relationships. Referring to the people we serve as families reflects the way we think about our role and the meaningful relationships we strive to build over time.

  • Teamwork makes the dream work

Every family we serve benefits from the collective experience and perspective of our team.

We collaborate, share ideas, and support one another because we believe the best outcomes come from working together in service of the families we care for.

  • Strong families are our passion

We believe strong families are at the heart of a meaningful life.

That's why we're passionate about helping families strengthen relationships, navigate important decisions, and create meaningful lives together. Our work is ultimately about people, relationships, and the impact we have on one another.

  • We're here for the long-haul

We believe meaningful advice is built over time.

By investing in our team and creating an environment where people can thrive both personally and professionally, we're able to build lasting relationships with the families we serve. Many of life's most important decisions happen over decades, not months, and we're committed to being there along the way.

  • We're small and mighty

    Our size is intentional.

Being a close-knit team allows us to know one another well, collaborate effectively, and provide a highly personal experience for the families we serve. We believe strong relationships create better outcomes, and those relationships are easier to build when people genuinely know and care about one another.

Living Our Culture

A man is holding a baby goat in his arms.

Living our Best Lives

We challenge each other to have big dreams and chase them! We also seek to live courageously enough to pursue our own dreams. Chris and Donna's family dreamt of living on a farm. They got clear on what mattered most and what type of lifestyle they wanted to live - and the country life was for them. Their farm is home to dozens of animals, including this handsome goat, Anthony.

Director of Team Success

We have a team member who is dedicated to ensuring that our team is fulfilled, that we're finding an appropriate work-life balance, and who helps ensure our team is communicating effectively. Jessica supports our team so our team can support the families we serve. JBW's 2024 team retreat included taking Allison and Seattle to their first Brave's game.

Sabbaticals

Each team member gets at least five weeks off after each five years of service. We provide a stipend at each sabbatical to encourage exploration. Andy and Kristy spent some of their time away traveling Europe on a river boat cruise.

Unlimited PTO

We encourage our team to take time off to be present with their families, to pursue passions, and recharge their batteries. Allison and Jameson took time away to hike with family in beautiful southern Utah.

Remote Work and Flexible Schedules

Our team works from home which allows the flexibility we all desire to have a healthy work-life balance. Seattle has five young children, and our team has loved watching her be a super-mom managing motherhood and her career like a pro.

Our Values

Just as we help families identify the values that guide their decisions, we've done the same as a team.

These values weren't chosen overnight. They were developed intentionally, continue to be revisited regularly, and serve as a compass for how we work together, support one another, and serve the families who trust us. They help keep us focused on what matters most.

Our Values

Not only do we help our families get clear on their guiding values, but it’s an exercise that’s important to us as well. We determined our values as a team, and we’ve adopted the discipline of revisiting them often. Our values keep us focused on what’s most important and they guide how we show up for our team and the families we serve.
